DOZ Marathon Łódź is one of the largest running events in the region. This year's 13th edition – record-breaking in terms of attendance – was attended by nearly 6,000 participants, who competed in the royal distance, relays and a 10 km run.
Members of the UniLodz Running Section can boast of significant achievements in individual distances.
THE MARATHON

Dr Marta Ułańska from the University of Lodz Polish Language Centre for Foreigners made her debut in the marathon. She finished the race on the royal distance (42.195 km) in a time of 04:15:31. Congratulations on being light, keeping the rhythm and running according to the assumptions! Welcome to the group of Marathon Runners!

mgr Marta Gabryelczyk from the University of Lodz Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection has run in the marathon for the second time and finished the race in a time of 04:24:52. Congratulations on improving your result from last year by over 30 minutes!
Half&Half Marathon Relay
This year, our university was represented by two two-person relay teams, whose participants ran the marathon distance together. The teams were:
Charty Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, including:
- mgr Renata Olender-Bartosik from the Project Support Centre, who completed the half marathon distance in the first shift in a time of 01:44:34
- mgr Piotr Masierek, a member of the University of Lodz Running Section, who can boast of the best result among the Section members in the half marathon distance: 01:32:21.
Charty Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego took high, 7th took a high place out of a total of 78 mixed relays (women and men) and 25th place out of 244 in the open category. Big applause for the great teamwork, determination and fortitude!
Uniwersytet Łódzki – Uwolnij Energię!, including:
- Joanna Muras from the University of Lodz Faculty of Management, a participant of the first shift, who for the first time in her life has run the half marathon distance in an excellent time of 01:56:11
- dr hab. Łukasz Arendt, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, who ran the second half of the marathon in a time of 01:39:50.
Our interdisciplinary duo took 18th place in the mixed relay category (women and men) and 72nd out of 244 in the open category.
Ekiden Relay
The largest relay team that ran the marathon distance in less than 4 hours (03:48:13) and took 59th place out of 116 relay teams was a strong team from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz – EKSOC RUNNERS, whose ranks were joined by:
- dr hab. Sylwia Roszkowska, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz,
- Dr Grzegorz Szafrański,
- Dr Eleonora Ratowska-Dziobiak,
- inż. Jacek Mierzyński,
- dr hab. Tomasz Miziołek, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz,
- dr hab. Paweł Gajewski, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz.
The EKSOC RUNNERS team has been actively participating in the DOZ Marathon for many years and represents our university beautifully!
