Research Topics
Department of Molecular Genetics conducts research in the field of molecular genetics in two main areas - DNA damage and repair and genetic variation in various diseases. Research activities are currently focused on the following topics:

Damage and repair of mitochondrial DNA
Expression of genes associated with apoptosis in BCR/ABL+ cells
Regulation of cell cycle and DNA repair
Role of RUNX2 protein in response to DNA damage and differentiation of osteoblasts
The importance of epigenetic modification in response of cells to DNA damage
Genetic variability of miRNAs in human cancers
Analysis of the biological properties of synthetic thiosugars in tumor cells
Biomolecular computers
Gene expression of BER pathway in Alzheimer's disease
DNA repair genes variability in depressive diseases
Proteins of DNA double-strand breaks repair as targets for personalized anti-cancer therapy based on synthetic lethality
